The Commission moved to defer any further action on said request until Win Priday and Manny Puentes could make further field studies to determine a possible solution to a unique traffic situation. (Yield sign was approved by Council, July 6, 1971) Signal at Tamarack Avenue and Highway 101 Request. A similar recommendation was made by the Traffic Commission on April 6, 1970, at which time the City Engineer began a review of the situation. City Engineer requested $31,000.00 for a signal at this location in the 1970-71 preliminary budget but was removed from the final budget. At the present time, the project is included as a top priority item for the use of TOPICS money. The Commission concurred with the present program for the signal installation, providing the State of California par- ticipate in the cost, in as much as traffic conditions exist because of the State Park. Commission recommends that the City Council pass a Resolution outlining the conditions and the responsibilities that the State of California should accept in signalization of inter- section and/or redesign of entrance and exit to Park. Request for Stop Sign by Resident in Terramar a.t El Arbol and Cerezo. It is the recommendation of the Commission that the request be denied for a stop sign at El Arbol and Cerezo, based on the fact that there is not heavy traffic and drivers approaching El Arbol could readily see that it is a 'IT" inter- section. No Parking Chestnut Avenue - Westhaven to Cameo. (Review of Item 12, June 7 minutes) The Staff reported that no problem is existing at the present time. The Commission moved to leave the situation status-quo. Review of Street Name Sign Selection. Traffic Commission unanimously recommended the 3029" sign sample reading "INDIAN" as a standard for street name signs. WP:vs
