Present: Chairman Bill Harkins, Bob Nelson, City Manager Arnold, City Engineer Cook, Chief Laugh1 in, Bill Allen
Absent: Moe Sims, Manny Puentes
1. Approval of Minutes
The minutes for the August meeting were approved as
submitted.
2. "No Parkinq" Pi0 Pic0 at Tamarack.
A motion was passed (Cook-Laughlin) to place "No Parking''
signs on the NW corner of Pi0 Pcio at Tamarack.
3. Appointment of New Member
A motion recommending that Gerald Alexander be appointed
to the membership of the Traffic Safety Commission was
passed (Ne1 son-Cook).
4. 15 Minute Parkinq on State at Trianqle-Allied Van Lines
The discussion concerning 15 minute parking on State
St. at Triangle Allied Van Lines was tabled because Mr.
Vickery of Allied was not present.
5. Stop Siqn at El Camino Real and Rancho Carlsbad
The discussion concerning the stop sign at Rancho Carlsbad
and El Camino Real was tabled.
6. Grade Crossinq Problems
The Traffic Safety Commission passed a motion (Cook-
Nelson) recommending that train speed be reduced through the City of Carlsbad. It was also recommended that the
P.U.C. recognize the priorities of intersection needs
and that each hazard be considered on its own merits.
7. Set Date for Next Meeting
The next meeting, October 2, will be a luncheon meeting
at noon at Alphie's followed by a tour of four way stops system.
