Traffic Fatal ity-Tamarack and Jefferson. Following a presentation in reference to the fatality at the intersection of Tamarack and Jefferson, and after much discussion, a motion was passed (Cook-Nelson) recommending that the City Council take the following action: 1) Install sidewalk on one or both sides of Tamarack be-- 2) Continuing uti1 izing crossing guards at Jefferson and 3) Increase the training program for crossing guards. 4) Have crossing guards wear high visibility clothing. 5) Review paddle used by crossing guards with the possibil- ity of using larger and more visibile paddles. 6) Direct the Traffic Engineer to study the intersection and investigate the cost of installing a signal and to come back with his recommendations. tween Jefferson and Carlsbad Blvd. Tama rack. 3. Traffic Accident at Elm and Rai 1 road. The traffic accident at Elm and the Railroad crossing was discussed and the Commission decided that they had done all that they could as the gates will be installed withln ~ a few'months, 4, Street Name Alternatives for Hiqhland and Elmwood Inter- sect ion. The discussion of street name alternatives for Highland and Elmwood intersection was tabled until 'a later meeting. 5. Siqnals at Pi0 Pic0 and Tamarack and Pi0 Pic0 and Elm Following a brief discussion a motion was made (Arnold-Cook) Traffic Safety Commission December 4, 1972 Page 2 recommending that top priority be given to signals at Pi0 Pic0 and Tamarack and Pi0 Pic0 and Elm. 6.
