Request for green zone in front of 405 Oak Avenue. The commission recommended that this item be handled administratively by staff. No Parking on El Camino Real at Rancho Carlsbad Drive. The Commission recommended that a no parking zone be established on El Camino Real from Rancho Carlsbad Drive northerly for a distance of 100 feet to insure safe sight distance for motorists exiting Rancho Carl s bad. This It should be noted that even though Traffic consideration on Ocean Street between Elm Avenue and Oak Avenue. The Commission felt that the above section of Ocean Street was too short in length to warrant any speed zone posting, and that establishing one- way traffic would not be feasible since there is no adjacent street to carry traffic in the opposite direction. However, the Commission did recommend that "park parallel" signs be installed on the east portion of Ocean Street to help improve the haphazard parking situation there. , Traffic Safety Commission July 6, 1976 Page 2 7. Review of traffic safety on Carlsbad Boulevard. The Commission recommended that all diagonal parking along the new State beach improvements be converted to parallel parking. The Commission also recommended that staff investigate the possibility of establishing a two way left turn lane on Carlsbad Boulevard between Pine and Tamarack Avenue to help reduce the number of rear-end accidents.
