MINUTES
Tuesday, April 5, 1977
Engineering-Planning Conference Room at 3:OO P.M.
Present: Chairman Bob Nelson, Bill Harkins, Guy Moore,
Mike Riley, Bill Baldwin, Capt. Wally Rossall, Kent Whitson
Absent: None
1. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the March 1, 1977 meeting were approved as submitted .
2. Additional traffic control at the intersection of Kelly
and Park Drives
Due to the increase and distribution of traffic at the above
T-intersection, the Commission recommended that the existing
"yield" sign on the east leg of the intersection be relocated
to the north leg, thereby requiring southbound traffic on
Kelly Drive to yield to all traffic on Park Drive.
3. Stop or yield control at the intersection of Sierra Morena Avenue-Catalina Drive and Trieste Drive
Due to the recent opening of Trieste Drive to the north and the anticipated increase in traffic volume on Trieste Drive,
the Commission recommended that yield control be established on the west leg of the intersection, Catalina Drive, and on the east leg, Sierra Morena Avenue.
4. Stop or yield control at the intersection of Cerezo and
Los Robles Drives
The Commission recommended that yield control be established
on Los Robles Drive at its intersection with Cerezo Drive
because of the need to assign right of way and the impaired
sight distance.

5. Request for 30 minute parking on State Street, north of
Beech Avenue
Since the persons making this request did not attend the meeting, the Commission decided not to take any action on this item.
6. No parking request on south side of Paseo del Norte, just east of Camino del Parque
The Commission recommended against establishing any additional
no parking zone (there is currently a fire hydrant on the
corner) at the above location at this time. Once the north
side of Paseo del Norte is constructed and a final striping
plan is established, the Commission will again have to look at several sections of Paseo del Norte which may require no parking zone.
7. Stop or yield control at several intersections along Adams
Street
In order to establish the proper assignment of right of way
at certain T-intersections along Adams Street, the Commission
recommended that YIELD signs be installed on Harborview Lane
and on Hoover Street. The Commission also recommended that
STOP control be established on Harrison Street,at its inter-
section with Adams Street, because of the severely impaired sight distance.
