City Council Chambers CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman John Lusignan at 3:O6 P.M. ROLL CALL Present - Chairman John Lusignan, Bill Baldwin, Capt. Wally Russell, Arthur Kantor, Ralph Darton, and Larrv Dossey. Absent - Wes Terry, and Carl Ross. Also present were: Steve Ti.sdale, Mr. Don LeMay, Christine Calderon, Barbara Lucas, Charlotte Alberton, and Marilyn and Fred Grote. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of the Regular Meeting, held October 5, 1981, were approved as submitted. 1. No parking signs on El Camino Real - Tamarack Avenue to Kelly Drive. The Commission recommended that Staff prepare the necessary ordinances for consideration by the City Council. 2. Arrows on Mav Stores Parkinn Lot. The Commission recommended that Mav Stores expedite the striping of the arrows as soon as possible, recognizing the current traffic problems due to the Christmas season. 3. Ridgecrest to Seacrest SDeed Studv. The Commission recommended that the Police Department be apprised of the situation and provide extra patrol for the area. The Commission also recommended additional tree trimming due to poor sight distance, and the installation of a striped bar to assist in the problem of speedinE. Staff will further study the possibility of sidewalks in the area, and report back to the Commission on same. 4. Request for a Four-Wav Stop - Romeria at La Costa. The Commission recommended that no stop signs be installed. 5. La Costa SDa Exit - trirnine movement Droblem The Commission recommended Staff issue a work order to paint the stop bar. 6. Stop sign at Highland and Buena Vista (Elmwood). The Commission took no action on this request. 7. Truck route si~ning on Paseo Del Norte/Poinsettia. The Commission referred the matter to the Police Department for action. OFF-AGENDA ITEM Bill Baldwin referred to the request for speed signs and pavement markers on Carlsbad Boulevard, and reported that the estimate €or same is $3,324. Mr. Baldwin continued that the City could paint pavement markers and maintain them for aproximatelg $600 - $700 per year. He indicated that a regular sign could be installed for approximately $85., including labor. Mr. Baldwin agreed to discuss the matter with Staff and obtain a work order for same.
