Due to the speeding complaints, the Committee recommended double yellow centerline striping be placed on Pontiac Drive and that speed limit pavement legends be installed adjacent to the speed limit signs. Officer Carpenter stated there had been no accidents on Pontiac Drive and no reason for extra patrolling. Commissioner Fuller stated this was a speeding problem in that area and he felt staff's recommendation was excellent. He added that the new center striping on Park and Kelly made the motorists more aware of the street; also painting the speed limits on the street does help the speeding problem. Traffic Safety Commission approved the recommendation of the Traffic Safety Coordinating Committee to deny the request for a 3-way STOP at Victoria Avenue and Pontiac Drive, and the request for a four-way STOP at Spokane Avenue and Pontiac Drive. They also approved the recommendation of the TSCC to place double yellow centerline striping on Pontiac Drive and speed limit pavement legends adjacent to the speed limit signs.
