Recommended Action
Adopt a Resolution approving the 2021 Regular Housing Commission Meeting Calendar.
Executive Summary
Staff is proposing a Housing Commission meeting schedule for 2021.
Discussion
The Housing Commission establishes its regular meeting schedule annually by Resolution.
Adopting the calendar by Resolution meets Brown Act requirements (Government Code
§54954) and provides the Housing Commission the opportunity to increase notification to the
public of its scheduled regular meetings. Special meetings can still be called as needed by
providing 24-hour notice before the time of the special meeting.
For calendar year 2021, staff is proposing one regular meeting per month at which the Housing
Commission will consider routine agenda items such as consent calendar items, public hearings
and departmental reports. All meetings will be scheduled to take place on the second Thursday
of each month. In light of the continuing restrictions on in-person meetings due to the COVID-
19 pandemic, staff proposes that regular meeting in 2021 begin at 4 p.m. At such time that in-
person meeting restrictions are lifted, the Housing Commission can consider resuming evening
meetings.

Fiscal Analysis
There are no significant fiscal impacts that would result from adoption of the attached
Resolution.

Environmental Evaluation (CEQA)
Pursuant to Public Resources Code section 21065, this action does not constitute a “project”
within the meaning of CEQA in that it has no potential to cause either a direct physical change
in the environment, or a reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment,
and, therefore, does not require environmental review.
Public Notification
This item was noticed in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act and was available for viewing
at least 72 hours prior to the meeting date.

RESOLUTION NO 2020-005
A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE 2021 REGULAR HOUSING COMMISSION
MEETING CALENDAR
WHEREAS, the Housing Commission of the City of Carlsbad, California has determined it will
establish its scheduled regular meetings annually by Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Ralph M. Brown Act (Government Code §54954) provides for the establishment
of an annual regular meeting calendar procedure; and
WHEREAS, special meetings of the Housing Commission will be called as necessary following
the requirements of the Brown Act (Government Code §54956).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Housing Commission of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. For calendar year 2021, the regular Housing Commission meetings shall take place on
the second Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. as follows:
