CONSTRUCTION 17034 Roseton Ave. Aretsia, Ca 90701 PROJECT FINAL COMPACTED FILL REPORT Life Technologies 5791 Van Allen Way Carlsbad, Ca REFERENCE Geotechnical Exploration Report Prepared by Geotechnics Incorporated (2010). Updated Geotechnical Recommendations (revised), Lobby Addition to 5791 Van Allen Way Building, Carlsbad , California Project No. 0675-002-04, Documents No. 10-0407R, August 27 This report concludes the inspection and testing of the commercial building pad construction at the above-referenced project. Testing and inspection were conducted on a intermittent basis beginning on October 28,2010 through January 29, 2011. The purpose of the inspection and testing was to verify conformance with the recommendations and procedures in the above-referenced Geotechnical Exploration Report. The following operations were observed by our staff technician: a All site preparation should begin with the removal of deleterious materials to and from the proposal building and improvement areas. Deleterious materials such as vegetation, trash and demolition debris were removed from site. ci All fill and Backfill were compacted to at least 90 percent of the maximum dry density at above optimum moisture content as determined by ASTM test method D 1557 and at least 95 percent maximum dry density for the aggregate based. ci Excavation were extended at least 5 feet (horizontally) beyond the outside perimeter of the lobby. ci Fill was placed in maximum Ioose.lifts of 8 inches and was moisture conditioned and compacted to slightly above the optimum moisture content. Field density tests were determined by the nuclear test method ASTM D6938. Based on our observations and successful completion of the compaction testing performed from October 28,2010 through January 29, 2011, it is our opinion that the grading for this project is in general conformance with the Geotechnical Engineering Report.
