Skelly and Ryan Boehmer SUBJECT: Summary of Soil Strength Testing, Emergency Bluff Restoration, 5323 and 5327 Carlsbad Boulevard, San Diego County, California Per your request and authorization, GeoSoils, Inc. has performed laboratory testing on representative, relatively undisturbed samples of the Quaternary-age terrace deposits (Qt) and the Tertiary-age Santiago Formation (Tsa) that comprise the coastal bluff at the subject site. Laboratory testing included a determination of soil shear strengths to be used in the proposed bluff restoration design. Direct shear testing was performed in general accordance with ASTM test method D-3080 in a Direct Shear Machine of the strain control type. The shear test results are presented in the following table and on the attached Figures 1 and 2. ... · .PRIIIIIJ\RY RESIDUAL .· •. GEOLOGIC FORMATION COHESION FRIOTIONANGI...E ' COHESION.,•· ..
