Installation: Installation standards as set forth in the 2000 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code, IAPMO Standard IS 26-99. Trenchless Polyethylene Pipe For Sewer Laterals as well as all other sections of applicable code have been followed as necessary. Excavation: Three areas of excavation exist. One entry point from which the pipe is pulled, where the pulling head enters the existing pipe, one exit point where the resistance or backing plate, pulley and hydraulic pulling ram is set and the new pipe is pulled from, and one additional connection to tie-in an existing drain line fmm the dwelling. The excavations are in non-traffic areas. Materials: The building sewer was replaced using the TRlC Trenchless Technology system. The existing line was a 4" cast iron and vitrified clay line that was replaced using UPC approved, 4" HDPE 3408, SDR 17pipe. Methods of Joining: The butt joints connecting SDR 17 pipe to pipe are bonded using the heat fusing method, as per ASTM D2657/D3261 standard and manufactures specification at a temperature range of 400 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Other connections made to existing lines are as per 2000 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code 705.1.6 and 705.1.8, for molded and shielded couplings. Pipe Replacement: The pulling head swaged cable is connected to the pulling head, the head is inserted into the existing pipe. The pipe is pulled at a rate of approximately one foot per minute at a pressure dhs not exceed 3200 psi. SO as to ensure that the manufactures specification of pulling ressure is not exceeded. (Approximately 3300 to 3500 psi.) Cleanouts are installed in the systems as per UPC section 707. Inspection and Testing: The completed job has been video inspected to insure that the line is intact and no low spots exist. Further, there will be a flow test to insure the proper flow is not impeded in any way. Backfill: The excavations are to be backfilled, upon passing Building Official inspection with dean native soil and compacted. The foregoing is a true and accurate account of the materials and procedures used to complete the work as outlined herein and is a self certification of the proper completion of the work as per currently adopted UPC standards.
