On the flip chart pad, Lewis Michaelson put the objectives that were used for the first two Community Conversations. They were: • Continue the education • Lots of public participation • Youth participation • Diversity of public participation • New voices • Quality input • Momentum Some other objectives that were noted for the Continued Community Conversations were: • More in-depth interaction and dialogue • Greater understanding of constraints • Prioritize/narrow • Everyone’s perspective is valued The Committee discussed that they felt that they met most of these objectives with first three Continued Community Conversations and hoped that the fourth meeting would go just as well as the first three. The Committee felt that we were not very successful with youth participation, but felt that we had new voices in the room. Diane Lantz indicated that all the presentations were great and that Michael Holzmiller and Gary Barberio did a wonderful job. Lewis indicated that you could tell that by the questions that were asked during the Q & A. There was discussion centered around the confusion of the public regarding agriculture on the properties being discussed. Gary Hill that agriculture can be extreme and intense. Next Steps Denise Vedder distributed a sheet of facts regarding outreach and what the next steps would be for outreach. There was some discussion from the Committee. After the last Continued Community Conversation an on-line version of the surveys would be available to those citizens who could not make it to the scheduled meetings. The on-line surveys would continue until April 1, 2008. Staff would compile the data from those surveys. The Committee decided that they would like a Synthesizing Workshop to bring the information together. Staff should work with the consultant for a date sometime after Ajpril 15, 2008 for this workshop. The Committee also decided to have a meeting to review the data from the on-line surveys prior to the Synthesizing Workshop. The Committee also agreed that a design charrette would need to be completed before the end of June 2008 Public Comment Only one member of the public spoke at the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
