IEPT. ENG. REPLACEMENT IN EL CAMINO REAL FROM COUGAR DRIVE TO TAMARACK AVENUE
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 680 accepting the construction of Water Transmission Main Replacement in El Camino Real, 20", 24" & 36" Water Main from Cougar Drive to Tamarack Avenue, authorization to file the Notice of Completion and to release the retention funds.
ITEM EXPLANATION
On December 10, 1988, the District signed a contract with Wal-Con Construction Company of San Diego, California for $1,894,383.00 for the construction of the Water Main Transmission Replacement in El Camino Real, 2OlI, 24" & 36" Water Main from Cougar Drive to Tamarack Avenue.
The project involved construction of a 20'@, 24" & 36" water main in El Camino Real from Cougar Drive to Tamarack Avenue replacing the existing water main. The contractor, Wal-Con Construction Company, has completed all work under the terms of their contractual agreement with the District, and the project is now ready for acceptance.
The entire project has been inspected and accepted by the staff and in now ready for formal acceptance by the Board.
FISCAL IMPACT
The 1988-89 budget for this project's construction total $2,526,620. Actual costs are as follows: The total cost of construction for original contract amount and change orders amounts to $1,905,740.58. The Engineering and Inspection costs totaled $104,041.59. The District holds a retention fund due and payable to the contractor thirty-five days following the filing the Notice of Completion. Ample funds were available for this project.

RESOLUTION NO. 680
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT ACCEPTING CONSTRUCTION OF WATER TRANSMISSION MAIN REPLACEMENT IN EL CAMINO REAL FROM COUGAR DRIVE TO TAMARACK AVENUE - CMWD PROJECT NO. 85-101
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal
Water District has determined that Wal-Con Construction Company
has completed the subject project in accordance with the plans,
specifications and terms of the contract document; and
WHEREAS, the District Engineer has recommended that the
Board of Directors accept the facilities constructed by Wal-Con
Construction Company authorize the Secretary to file a ItNotice of
CompletionIt, and authorize the General Manager to release. the
final retention funds.

Carlsbad Municipal Water District:

complete and hereby accepted.

That the General Manager is authorized to release the
final retention funds, the securities held to insure
faithful performance, to Wal-Con Construction
