RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. /d.# accepting the construction of the North Batiquitos 12” Water
Main and Sewage Force Main Replacement, CMWD Project No. 85-401, Contract No.
34521/34522, as complete and directing the Secretary to record a Notice of Completion and
release bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On November 18, 1997, 4 Point Pipeline Construction, Inc., was awarded a contract in the
amount of $290,905 for construction of the North Batiquitos 12” Water Main and Sewage Force
Main Replacement, CMWD Project No. 85-401, Contract No. 34521/34522. This project
involved the replacement of two deteriorated pipelines. A sewage force main extending from
the Batiquitos Pump Station to a gravity sewer located adjacent to interstate 5 and a water
pipeline located in parallel with the sewage force main near interstate 5. Both pipelines are
within a 40-foot easement granted by the property owner as shown on the attached location
map.
4 Point Pipeline Construction, Inc., completed the work on September 23, 1998. City forces
have inspected said work and found it to be satisfactory. Staff recommends formal acceptance
by the District Board of Directors.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER
DISTRICT OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE NORTH BATIQUITOS 12” WATER
MAIN AND SEWAGE FORCE MAIN REPLACEMENT, CMWD
PROJECT NO. 85-401, CONTRACT NO. 34521/34522.
4 WHEREAS, the construction of the North Batiquitos 12” Water Main and Sewage Force
5 Main Replacement, CMWD Project No. 85-401, Contract No. 34521/34222, has been
6 satisfactorily completed; and
7 WHEREAS, the formal project Notice of Completion has been prepared; and
8 WHEREAS, all project costs have been established to date.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad
Municipal Water District of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the construction of the North Batiquitos 12” Water Main and Sewage Force

14 Main Replacement, specifically identified as CMWD Project No. 85-401, Contract No. 85-401, is
15 deemed complete and hereby accepted.
16 3. The Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to record the Notice of Completion
17 of said project and release bonds in accordance with State Law and District Codes.
18 4. That the Carlsbad Municipal Water District of Carlsbad, California, is hereby
19 directed to commence maintaining the above described public improvements for said project.
