RESOLUTION NO. 95-348
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE INITIATION
OF AN INTERNAL STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS
AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has directed staff to
initiate an internal strategic planning process; and,
WHEREAS, strategic planning is a disciplined and structured process
lo I1 designed to produce decisions and actions that shape and guide what an
11 organization is, what it does, and why it does it; and,
12 WHEREAS, through this process, the City will integrate the various

change efforts underway in the organization and develop an inspiring and
15

organization. 18
commonly understood internal City organization vision; and,
WHEREAS, as a result of this process the City will identify several
strategic initiatives that when implemented will significantly improve the
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City o

1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council does hereby authorize the Finance Director to
24 ll appropriate $75,000 from the General Fund Contingency Account for the

purpose of developing an internal strategic plan.
