A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CARLSBAD
3 MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT (CMWD), APPROVING PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF
4 EL CAMINO REAL 24-INCH TRANSMISSION MAIN AND FLOW
CONTROL STATION, AND AUTHORIZING THE DISTRICT'S
_ SECRETARY TO THE BOARD TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FORb THE CONSTRUCTION OF EL CAMINO REAL 24-INCH
TRANSMISSION MAIN, FLOW CONTROL STATION, WIDENING
6 NORTH OF COUGAR DRIVE, MEDIAN IMPROVEMENTS,
PAVEMENT OVERLAY AND CONCRETE REPLACEMENT,
7 PROJECT NOS. 3843. 3920. 6001. AND 6013.
8 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District, has
Q determined it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the El Camino Realy
24-Inch Transmission Main and Flow Control Station, Project No. 3843; and
10 WHEREAS, the plans and specifications for furnishing all labor, materials, tools,
^ equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessary or incidental of said project have
12 been prepared and are on file in the Public Works-Engineering Department of the City of
13 Carlsbad and are incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $414,650 are anticipated to be needed to
14
construct the El Camino Real 24-inch transmission pipeline and flow control station and may be
15 requested at time of award of construction based on actual award amount; and
16 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District has
17 determined it necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the widening of
El Camino Real North of Cougar Drive, Median Improvements, Pavement Overlay and Concrete18
Replacement, Project Nos. 3920, 6001, and 6013, for the City of Carlsbad.
1Q NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad
20 Municipal Water District, as follows:
21 1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the plans, specifications, and contract documents on file in the Engineering
Department of the City of Carlsbad are hereby approved.
23 3. The District Secretary of the Carlsbad Municipal Water District is hereby
24 authorized and directed to publish, in accordance with State law, a Notice to Contractors Inviting
25 Bids for the construction of the El Camino Real 24-Inch Transmission Main, Flow Control
26 Station, Widening North of Cougar Drive, Median Improvements, Pavement Overlay and
Concrete Replacement, Project Nos. 3843, 3920, 6001, and 6013, in accordance with the plans,

specifications, and contract documents referred to herein.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Joint Special Meeting of the
Carlsbad Municipal Water District Board of Directors and the Carlsbad City Council held
on the 6th day of May, 2008, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Board Members Lewis, Kulchin, Hall, Packard and Nygaard.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
