2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING AN INTERIM
3 CITY MANAGER

5 WHEREAS, the City Manager has announced her intention to retire as of
6 December 24, 2012; and
7 WHEREAS, she will not return tp the work place; and
8 WHEREAS, Assistant City Manager John Coates has the skills, knowledge and
^ ability to serve as the interim City Manager until a successor City Manager is appointed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That John Coates is appointed interim City Manager until a successor City
15 Manager is appointed
16 3. His bi-weekly salary shall be set at $7,653.69 unless and until modified by
further resolution ofthe City Council.

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council
of the City of Carlsbad on the 6th day of November, 2012, by the following vote to wit:
