Dear Mr. Taylor:
Staff has reviewed your latest proposal for a sign permit located at 3001 Carlsbad
Boulevard. The proposed signs located on the north and south side of the building are
acceptable. However, the width of the deck supporting the sign on the south side of the
building needs to be indicated on the plans, as well as the length of the sign extending
beyond the perimeter of the deck’s beam.
The east facing sign is not acceptable, as no signs are permitted to be placed on or above
the roof line per Subsection 21.41.030(13) of the Carlsbad Municipal Code (see attached).
Please make the necessary revisions needed and resubmit your revised plans to my
attention in the Planning Department.
If a sign permit is not issued for this proposal within one month of the date of this letter,
then code enforcement will be notified to resume enforcement of any existing illegal signs or banners.
