2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CQUNCIL OF THE CITY QF CARLSBAD,
CAUFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY QF CARLSBAD TQ APPROVE A
MEMORANDUM QF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE UNITED STATES
4 MARSHALS SERVICE TQ PARTICIPATE IN THE REGIONAL FUGITIVE
TASK FORCE

^ WHEREAS, the City of CaHsbad Police Department recognizes a need to investigate and

apprehend local, state and federal fugitive suspects, in order to improve public safety and reduce
violent crime in the Carlsbad community; and
WHEREAS, the United States Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force brings justice
11 to fugitive suspects eluding law enforcement utilizing a multi-agency team approach; and
12 WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad Police Department has been invited to participate in this
task force by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of CaHsbad, California,
as follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
18 2. The Council approves and authorizes the Interim Police Chief to execute the
19 Memorandum of Understanding between the United States Marshals Service and the
CaHsbad Police department for participation in Regional Fugitive Task Force.
