Mr. Matthew: At your request and as required, Construction Testing & Engineering, Inc. (CTE) has reviewed the referenced grading and temporary shoring plans for the subject project. The object of our review was to
identify potential conflicts with the recommendations presented in the referenced geotechnical
documents, as they pertain to the proposed improvements. Based on CTE’s review the proposed grading and temporary shoring plans appear to be in substantial conformance with CTE’s referenced geotechnical recommendations. Additionally, CTE understands that, due to space constraints behind the shoring wall, the contractor intends to use a drain board system (e.g., Miradrain or equivalent) in lieu of
a gravel-and-subdrain system as recommended in the geotechnical report. CTE does not object to the
use of an appropriate drain board system. The document is subject to the same limitations as the referenced geotechnical report. The opportunity
