To Whom It May Concern: As requested, Construction Testing & Engineering, Inc. (CTE) has performed observation and testing of minor compacted fill materials during recent construction at the above referenced site. This letter is
provided as certification that the recent fill or backfill placement has been conducted in substantial
conformance with the applicable plans and specifications for the project.
Field-testing of the compacted fill material was conducted as scheduled by the contractor between March 8, 2018 and May 19, 2020. Testing was performed in general accordance with ASTM D-6938 (nuclear method). Results of the field-testing indicate that fill materials in the subject areas were
compacted to a minimum of 90 and 95 percent (depending on location and requirements) of the
laboratory maximum dry density as determined by test method ASTM D-1557. Tabulated results of the
field compaction testing performed are provided in the attached Table I, “Compaction Test Summary”.
The laboratory maximum density results are provided in Table II, “Laboratory Test Results.” This letter is subject to the same limitations as the other project geotechnical and other construction
