Mr. Castriotta:
As requested, Construction Testing & Engineering, Inc. (CTE) has performed the requested observation and testing of
materials during past and recent earthworks and construction for the Cherry Field Beach Homes and associated
improvements at the referenced site. This letter is provided as certification that the footing inspections, utility
backfills, and asphalt placement has been conducted in substantial conformance with the recommendations specified
in the approved project soils report completed Coast Geotechnical, dated February 26, 2015.
Field-testing of the compacted material indicate that fill materials were compacted to a minimum of 90 or 95, relative
compaction depending on location, of the laboratory maximum dry density as determined by test method ASTM D-
1557. Asphalt pavements were compacted to a minimum 95% relative compaction in accordance with ASTM
D2950/D2950M. Tabulated results of the field compaction testing performed are provided in the attached Table I,
“Compaction Test Summary.” The laboratory maximum density results are provided in Table II, “Laboratory Test
Results.”
