Response to Request for Additional Information From Review Comments,
Proposed Residential Development, Southwest Corner of Park Drive and Hillside
Drive, Carlsbad, California (APN 156-160-15)
The following are in regards to a Michael Baker International Shop Drawing Review of the
project structural plans, and request for additional information.
1. Active soil pressure for 2:1 backfill conditions: 63 pcf (EFP)
2. For passive resistance of soils subject to saturation, compact soils to a minimum of
95% and use the same value of 347 pcf. Or use a reduced passive of 161 pcf (EFP)
for soils subject to potential wetting or saturation.
