On behalf of Cleantech San Diego, I would like to inform CEA's board members of two upcoming opportunities: First, Cleantech San Diego members EDF Renewables and Tenaska would like to invite you to visit two exciting clean energy projects located in the San Diego area. The tours will be led by local energy experts and will focus on the benefits these projects bring to San Diego and beyond. The details are provided below. Date: August 31, 2021 Venues: 1. EDF Innovation Drive Microgrid (15445 Innovation Dr, San Diego, CA 92128): Jonathan Hart and Thomas de Fresart of EDF Renewables are offering a tour of the Innovation Drive Microgrid project located at the EDF Renewables corporate campus in Rancho Bernardo. The project consists of a solar carport, solar rooftop, battery storage and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and is a good example of a creative distribution level project. 2. Peregrine Energy Storage Project Site (27th and Main in the dead-end area of 27th Street): Tim Hemig and Keith Latham are offering a tour of the future site of the Peregrine Energy Storage Project in Barrio Logan. The site will be home to a 200 MW/400 MWh lithium-ion battery storage project that is expected to be online by late 2022 to early 2023 and is a good example of a large scale project being developed within a community of concern. Schedule: 1:00: meet at EDF Headquarters in Rancho Bernardo 1:15 -2:45: tour the Innovation Drive Microgrid Project 2:45 -3:15: travel to Tenaska's Peregrine Energy Storage Project 3:30 -4:30: tour Peregrine site Participants may join for all our part of the tours. We look forward to an educational afternoon with representatives from Clean Energy Alliance, San Diego Community Power, the City of San Diego, and Cleantech San Diego. Second, Cleantech San Diego member Sun Run and EDF Renewables would like to extend the opportunity to hear a short presentation at a future board meeting about the innovative projects and programs they offer. Since CEA is in start-up mode, this is a chance to learn about what is possible for your communities as you begin to consider the types of local, clean energy projects that your customers want. Cleantech San Diego and its members look forward to supporting CEA as it builds on its successful launch and begins to offer additional programs to its customers. Thank you for your time.
