Chief Innovation Officer David Graham and Assistant City Attorney Cindie McMahon were also present. PUBLIC COMMENT None. SUBCOMMITTEE COMMENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS None. NEW BUSINESS Item 1. Economic Development Subcommittee Workplan Recommendation: Receive an informational report regarding city economic development activities and provide comments and recommendations on the anticipated work of the subcommittee. Chief Innovation Officer David Graham and Economic Development Manager Matt Sanford presented the report and reviewed a PowerPoint presentation ( on file in the Office of the City Clerk). President & CEO of the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce Bret Schanzenbach, Carlsbad .Village Association (CVA) Executive Director Christine Davis, and Interim Executive Director of Visit Carlsbad Mark Rudyk shared updates for each of their respective organizations. CVA Executive Director Davis requested city assistance with promoting the CVA Job Fair and mask-use language ideas for business owners to use. The Subcommittee received the report. Item 2. Inclusive Economic Recovery and Development Strategy Recommendation: Receive an informational report regarding the development of a long- term, inclusive economic development strategy. Chief Innovation Officer David Graham and Economic Development Manager Matt Sanford presented the report and reviewed a PowerPoint presentation ( on file in the Office of the City Clerk). The Subcommittee received the report. Item 3. Supporting Carlsbad Non-Profit Organizations Recommendation: Provide comments and recommendations regarding city support for non-profit organizations. Senior Deputy City Clerk Tammy McMinn read the following public comments for the record: Paige DeCino wrote requesting support for the Carlsbad Community Gardens Collaborative. Diane Nygaard, representing Preserve Calavera, wrote requesting support for Preserve Calavera.
