PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING:
1. SDP 2021-0005/CDP 2021-0008 (DEV2020-0245) – ADDITION AND REMODEL OF BOB BAKER MAZDA
Request for approval of a Site Development Plan and Coastal Development Permit for the addition and
remodel of an existing automobile dealership, located on a 2.7-acre lot at 5365 Car Country Drive,
within the Car Country Carlsbad Specific Plan (SP 19(J)), the Mello II Segment of the Local Coastal
Program and Local Facilities Management Zone 3. The project site is not located within the appealable
area of the California Coastal Commission. The City Planner has determined that this project belongs
to a class of projects that the State Secretary for Resources has found do not have a significant impact
on the environment and is therefore categorically exempt from the requirement for the preparation
of environmental documents pursuant to section 15301(e) – Existing Facilities of the state CEQA
guidelines.

2. GROWTH MANAGEMENT PLAN UPDATE ADVISORY COMMITTEE – Nominate two Planning
Commissioners to serve on the committee (one commissioner to serve as a primary committee
member and one commissioner to serve as an alternate member).
Commissioner Stine nominated as primary and Sabellico as alternate: 6/0/1 (Commissioner Merz
absent)
3. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ADVISORY COMMITTEE VACANCY – Nominate a
representative from the Planning Commission to serve a two-year term from May 2021 to May 2023.
Commissioner Kamenjarin nominated to serve on the committee: 6/0/1 (Commissioner Merz absent).
4. AMEND 2021-0008, AMEND 2021-0009 - VILLAGE AND BARRIO MASTER PLAN OBJECTIVE DESIGN
STANDARDS PROJECT (DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE NOMINATION) – Nominate one Planning
Commissioner to serve on the Design Review Committee to review and provide recommendations on
the Village and Barrio Master Plan Objective Design Standards.
Commissioner Lafferty nominated to serve on the committee: 6/0/1 (Commissioner Merz absent)
5. PERMIT & SERVICE DELIVERY GUIDE - An informational presentation that provides an overview of
the department’s new Permit & Service Delivery Guide and associated implementing process
improvements.
