WHEN A POTABLE WATER LINE AND RECLAIMED WATER UNE CROSS, THE RECLAIMED LINE SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHIN A PROTECTIVE SLEEVE. THE SLEEVE SHALL EXTEND 10 FEET FROM EACH SIDE, FROM THE CENTER LINE OF POTABLE LINE, FORA TOTAL OF 20 FEET. 17. A 10 FOOT HORIZONTAL SEPARATION BElWEEN POTABLE WATER AND RECLAIMED WATER MAINS MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES. THE POTABLE LINE MUST BE INSTALLED ABOVE THE RECLAIMED LINE. 18. A MINIMUM OF 12 INCHES OF VERTICAL SEPARATION BElWEEN UTILITIES MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES. 19, THE REQUIRED CROSS-CONNECTION SHUTDOWN TEST SHALL BE DONE BY THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT ANO THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH. 20. Plant material shall not be root-bound and shall have been grown in nursery containers for a minimum of six months. 8. Plants shall be free of pests, diseases and deformities. Plants with broken branches or damaged trunks will be rejected by the owner's representative. Contractor shall remove damaged plants, and replace them with healthy specified plants. Trees shall not be topped. 9. Install root control barriers with trees in accordance with the Special Provisions. Root barriers shall be placed adjacent, and parallel to, edges of hardscape improvements (not encircling rootball). 10. Irrigation system shall be fully operational, and all planting areas shall be completely watered to a minimum depth of 12 inches before start of planting work. Contractor shall coordinate location of plants with irrigation equipment and piping. 11. Prior to start of planting work, planting areas shall be free of weeds and surface rocks, and final grades shall be established by the Contractor. After completion of planting work, Contractor shall fine grade all planting areas and remove rocks, clods and debris. 12. Contractor shall apply pre-emergent herbicide in all planting areas prior to spreading mulch. 13. Spread mulch in all planting areas in accordance with the Planting Specifications, see sheet L-10. 14. Upon completion of planting operations, remove all demolition items, trash and debris, repair or replace any damaged improvements, and thoroughly clean the work area. Contractor shall be responsible for legal disposal of all materials in accordance with applicable local codes and regulations. 15. Contractor shall provide safe and convenient access for the public in accordance with the Uniform Building Code, Special Provisions, and applicable local codes and regulations during the progress of work. All work areas with public access shall be cleaned and left in a safe condition at the end of each workday. Contractor shall be responsible for job site safety at all times until the work is accepted by the owner. 16. Contractor shall provide 3" of medium bark mulch on all non-turf planting areas less steep than 3:1 all trees 2' min. away from curbs. Planter mulch shall be 3" deepth shredded fir tree bark or similar, shall range in size from 1/2 to 3/4". Submit sample to City Inspector for approval prior to bulk delivery to job site. 17.
