This agenda includes information about topics coming before the Commission and the action recommended by city staff. PUBLIC COMMENT: The Brown Act allows any member of the public to comment on items not on the agenda. Please treat others with courtesy, civility, and respect. In conformance with the Brown Act, public comment is provided so members of the public may participate in the meeting by submitting comments as provided on the front page of this agenda. The Beach Preservation Commission will receive comments at the beginning of the meeting. In conformance with the Brown Act, no action can occur on these items. DEPARTMENTAL REPORTS: 1. SR # 0104-1 TRI-ANNUAL REPORT OUT ON WORK PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020-21 Participate in the third report out of the progress on the goals and tasks of the fiscal year 2020-21 work plan. 2. SR # 0104-2 APPROVAL OF WORK PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2021-22 Review and approve the work plan for fiscal year 2021-22. 3. SR # 0104-3 OPTIONS TO PRESERVE OPEN SPACE AND RECREATION ALONG THE CARLSBAD COAST Provide comments, if any, on the video recording of the City Council meeting on July 13, 2021, Item 14, discussing the viable strategies regarding Planning Area F and other coastal properties to preserve open space and recreation, including a potential linear park along the coastal bluffs at Carlsbad Boulevard. 4. SR # 0104-4 CITY COUNCIL POSITION STATEMENT REGARDING THE CITY OF OCEANSIDE’S PLANNED BEACH SAND REPLENISHMENT AND RETENTION DEVICE PROJECT Recommend the City Council adopt a resolution approving the City Council’s Position Statement of opposition to the City of Oceanside’s planned Beach Sand Replenishment and Retention Device Project and directing staff to send a copy of the resolution to the Oceanside City Council. The remainder of the categories is for reporting purposes. In conformance with the Brown Act, no public testimony and no Commission action can occur on these items. MINUTES REPORTS: 5.
