CITY COUNCIL
Special Meeting
CALL TO ORDER: 5:30 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Hall, Blackburn, Bhat-Patel, Acosta, Norby
PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDA ITEMS: None.
Assistant City Manager Geoff Patnoe welcomed the students to the Spring 2022 Citizens’
Academy.
Assistant City Manager Patnoe introduced the Mayor and members of the City Council to the
class. Each Council Member gave opening comments and expressed their support of the students
for taking the time to attend the academy.
Legislative & Constituent Services Director Sheila Cobian and City Attorney Celia Brewer gave a
presentation on the role of the City Manager and City Attorney and the legal foundations of
government.
Executive Assistant Shelby Nelson declared a recess at 6:41 p.m.
Executive Assistant Nelson reconvened the meeting at 6:46 p.m.
Legislative & Constituent Services Director Cobian provided an overview of the services and
resources offered by the City Clerk and Records Management offices.
Intergovernmental Affairs Director Jason Haber provided an overview of the Clean Energy
Alliance and Legislative Affairs.
Executive Assistant Nelson thanked the residents for attending and provided reminders for
Session #2 of the academy.
ADJOURNMENT:
The Special Meeting of March 10, 2022 was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
