Recommended Action
Discuss Senior Commission Members touring other senior centers and make determinations as
appropriate.
Executive Summary
At the regular meeting of the Senior Commission on May 5, 2022, Vice Chair Mehan requested
a future meeting agenda item for discussion of Senior Commission Members touring several
other senior centers (such as those in the cities of Encinitas, Vista and Oceanside). She
expressed an interest in having tours set up so Commissioners could review the other centers
for purposes of benchmarking and generating ideas for the Carlsbad Senior Center. Margaret
Hamer, Recreation Area Manager, will propose neighboring senior centers to tour and facilitate
a discussion on the selection of logistical determinations.
