THE SURROUNDING AREA IS DEVELOPED WITH SINGLE RESIDENTIAL UNITS AND MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT. THE SITE DRAINS NATURALLY TO THE SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH. PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT CONSIST OF MINOR GRADING, THE CONSTRUCTION OF 4 RESIDENTIAL UNITS, PARKING AND SURFACE FLOW DRAINAGE. FOR DRAINAGE AREAS SEE ATTACHED 20 SCALE DRAINAGE AREAS MAP. EXISTING ZONE El: AREA = 0.1781 AC. RUNOFF FOR SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT C = .55 TIME OF CONCENTRATION: FOR SMALL DRAINAGE AREAS USE 5 MINUTES INTENSITY (100 YEAR STORM) FROM EQUATION ON APPENDIX A = 4.40 Q = C x I x A = .55 x 4.40 x 0.1781 AC. = 0.43 CFS THIS SITE WATER IS COLLECTED IN AN INLET OR ROOF DRAINS DISCHARGES THROUGH THE EXISTING WALL. IT IS CONNECTED TO THE EXISTING OFFSITE STORM DRAIN SYSTEM. OFFSITE RUNOFF (ADJACENT 6 UIT DEVELOPMENT) ALSO DRAINS INTO THIS PIPE SYSTEM. FROM HYDROLOGY STUDY FOR THAT PROJECT, 0.60 CFS DRAINS TO THE EXISTING STORM DRAIN SYSTEM. TOTAL RUNOFF IN PIPE = 0.60 + 0.43 = 1.03 CFS STORM DRAIN DESIGN: 8" PVC GRADE = 1.00% N = .011 Q = 1.03 CFS Dn=5.0" . V=4.45F/S FOR CALCULATION SEE APPENDIX B1 EXISTING ZONE E2: AREA = 0.0839 AC. RUNOFF FOR SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT C = .70 TIME OF CONCENTRATION: FOR SMALL DRAINAGE AREAS USE 5 MINUTES INTENSITY (100 YEAR STORM) FROM EQUATION ON APPENDIX A = 4.40 Q = C x I x A = .70 x 4.40 x 0.1420 AC. = 0.44 CFS THIS STORM RUNOFF COLLECTS IN THE DRIVEWAY AND PARKING AREA AND DISCHARGES TO AN EXISTING GRATED INLET IN THE ADJACENT PROJECT. OFFSITE RUNOFF (ADJACENT 6 UNIT DEVELOPMENT) ALSO DRAINS INTO THIS PIPE SYSTEM. FROM HYDROLOGY STUDY FOR THAT PROJECT, 0.60 CFS DRAINS TO THE EXISTING STORM DRAIN SYSTEM. TOTAL RUNOFF IN PIPE = 0.60 + 0.44 = 1.04 CFS STORM DRAIN DESIGN: 8" PVC GRADE = 1.00% N = .011 Q = 1.04 CFS Dn=5.0" V=4.45F/S FOR CALCULATION SEE APPENDIX B2 PROPOSED ZONE P2: AREA = 0.1150 AC. RUNOFF FOR SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT C = .70 TIME OF CONCENTRATION: FOR SMALL DRAINAGE AREAS USE 5 MINUTES INTENSITY (100 YEAR STORM) FROM EQUATION ON APPENDIX A = 4.40 Q = C x I x A = .70 x 4.40 x 0.1150 AC. = 0.35 CFS THIS STORM RUNOFF WILL SHEET FLOW, ACROSS A PLANTED AREA WHICH WILL FILTER THE RUNOFF, TO CARLSBAD BLVD. TOTAL RUNOFF FOR EXISTING CONDITION IS 0.44 + 0.20 = 0.64 CFS TOTAL RUNOFF FOR PROPOSED CONDITION IS 0.44 + 0.35 = 0.79 CFS THIS IS AN INCREASE IN 0.15 CFS.
