Rcq SIut!ons, June 27, 2018 Project No. 20172781 .001A Ms. Crysta Campbell Senior Director, West Coast I Development & Construction Brookfield Properties - San Diego Corporate Office 733 5th Avenue San Diego, CA 92101 RECEIVED Subject: Geotechnical Update Report Letter for JUN 2018 The Shoppes at Carlsbad - Echo & Rig Options 28 2525 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, California 92 9ND DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING Dear Ms. Campbell: In response to Ms. Haixin Li, the Senior Civil Engineer with Hofman Planning & Engineering regarding the City of Carlsbad requirement for geotechnical report for the proposed improvements called Echo & Rig Options at the Shoppes at Carlsbad, we have prepared this geotechnical update letter. We understand that the proposed Echo & Rig Options improvements consist of minor grading, hardscape improvements, and Asphalt Concrete (AC) paving. The approximate location of the improvements is shown in Figure 1. Based on the location and the scope of the improvements, we conclude that the data, recommendations, and conclusions contained in the geotechnical report and its addenda (References 1 through 4) are valid for the proposed construction. LIMITATIONS The review of geotechnical work was performed in a manner consistent with that level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by other members of Kleinfelder's profession practicing in the same locality, under similar conditions and at the date the services are provided. Our conclusions, opinions, and recommendations are based on a limited number of observations and data. It is possible that conditions could vary between or beyond the data evaluated. Kleinfelder makes no other representation, guarantee, or warranty, express or implied, regarding the services, communication (oral or written), report, opinion, or instrument of service provided.
