You may use a single DCDA for multiple risers so long as the simultaneous flow for the two most demanding buildings does not exceed the square footage (52,000) or the capacity of the supply. We use the simultaneous flow for two buildings when there is less than a 20-foot separation between 2. It is preferred that the risers be provided with supervised butterfly valves v. PIV's. 3. Yes, however all connected systems must be designed to carry the highest rated pressure. 4. CBD does allow a single riser to supply two buildings that are co nnected so long as there is not a seismic separation, that the branch or feed mains are not exposed in the sense that they are not under a protective construction, or the they are under separate ownership. T HERE IS A MASTER BACKFLOW WITH FDC ON THE BACKFLOW WITH 3 UNDERGROUNDS TO 3 RISERS. DOES CARLSBAD REQUIRE UNDERGROUND PIV'S OR CAN THERE BE BUTTERFLY VALVES ON THE RISERS? 1. DOES CARLSBAD ALLOW ONE YARD FDC FOR 3 RISERS? 2. THE PROJECT HAS 3 RISERS BUT 2 BUILDINGS CONNECT WITH A COVERED DINNING AREA. COULD 1 RISER SUPPLY BOTH BUILDINGS AS THE TOTAL AREA IS UNDER 52,000SF? PLEASE REVIEW THE ATTACHMENTS AND REPLY OR CALL ME TO DISCUSS.
