All plans submitted for sign permits/sign programs shall consist of a minimum of a site plan and sign
elevations containing the following information:
1. North arrow and scale.
2. Location of existing buildings or structures, parking areas, and vehicular access points to the
property.
3. Location of all existing and proposed signs for the property.
4. Distance to the property line(s) for all proposed freestanding sign(s).
5. Provide an elevation for all proposed sign(s) which specifies the following:
A. Dimensions and area for all existing and proposed sign(s).
B. Materials the sign(s) will be constructed of.
C. Source of Illumination.
D. Proposed sign copy.

APPLICATIONS
The following example illustrates the information that is required for all pole, monument, and
freestanding sign permit applications. Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed
for potential issues by the Transportation Department, which will not allow signs to be approved
over the counter. Additional time will be required for on-site inspection.

Relationship to Streets: Signs shall be designed and located so as not to interfere with the
unobstructed clear view of the public right-of-way and nearby traffic regulatory signs of any
pedestrian, bicyclist or motor vehicle driver.
Sight Distance: No sign or sign structure shall be placed or constructed so that it impairs the sight
distance requirements at any public or private street intersection or driveway.

1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CLEANUP OF
ALL SILT AND MUD ON ADJACENT STREET(S). DUE TO
CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES OR ANY OTHER CONSTRUCTION
ACTIVITY, AT THE END OF EACH WORK DAY , OR AFTER A STORM
EVENT THAT CAUSES A BREECH IN INSTALLED CONSTRUCTION
BMP'S WHICH MAY COMPROMISE STORM WATER QUALITY WITHIN
ANY STREET(S). A STABILIZED CONSTRUCTION EXIT MAY BE
REQUIRED TO PREVENT CONSTRUCTION VEHICLES OR
EQUIPMENT FROM TRACKING MUD OR SILT ONTO THE STREET.
2. ALL STOCKPILES OF SOIL AND/OR BUILDING MATERIALS THAT
ARE INTENDED TO BE LEFT FOR A PERIOD GREATER THAN SEVEN
CALENDAR DAYS ARE TO BE COVERED. ALL REMOVABLE BMP
DEVICES-SHALL BE IN PLACE AT THE END OF EACH WORKING
DAY WHEN FIVE DAY RAIN PROBABILITY FORECAST EXCEEDS

3. A CONCRETE WASHOUT SHALL BE PROVIDED ON ALL PROJECTS
WHICH PROPOSE THE CONSTRUCTION OF ANY CONCRETE
IMPROVEMENTS WHICH ARE TO BE POURED IN PLACE ON SITE .
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTORE ALL EROSION/SEDIMENT
CONTROL DEVICES TO WORKING ORDER AFTER EACH RUN-OFF
PRODUCING RAINFALL OR AFTER ANY MATERIAL BREACH IN
EFFECTIVENESS.
5. ALL SLOPES THAT ARE CREATED OR DISTURBED BY
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY. MUST BE PROTECTED AGAINST
EROSION AND SEDIMENT TRANSPORT AT ALL TIMES.
6. THE STORAGE OF ALL CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND
EQUIPMENT MUST BE PROTECTED AGAINST ANY POTENTIAL
RELEASE OF POLLUTANTS INTO THE ENVIRONMENT.
7. SOIL STABIZATION TO REPRREVENT SOIL EROSION. MULCH .
STRAW OR WOODCHIPS SHALL BE APPLIED TO EXPOSE SOIL
AREA, ACCORDING TO SS-6 AND SS-8 OF THE CONSTRUCTION

8. SEDIMENT CONTROL. A SILT FENCE SHALL BE INSTALLED
ACCORDING TO SC-1 OF THE BMPS MANUAL
9. TRACKING CONTROL STREET SWEEPING AND VACUUMING SHALL
BE IMPLEMENTETD ACCORDING TO SC-7 OF THE BMPS MANUAL
10. WASTE MANAGEMENT AND MATERIALS POLLUTION CONTROL·
APPROPRIATE METHODS SHALL BE IMPLEMENTED ACCORDING
