It is understood that some permanent storm water BMPs include subsurface components that may need observation during installation; more specifically, bioretention/biofiltration BMPs (liners/fabrics, perforated sub drains, type of permeable base, amended soil type, compaction, and surface stabilization). However, it is also important to clarify that in addition to these types of Permanent BMPs, there are also proprietary BMPs that are pre-fabricated offsite by manufacturers, for which the structural integrity of these BMPs are not considered part of this certification.
