You can also selectively enable alarm, supervisory/trouble, backup, and recall test reporting to either of the two receivers. NETWORK MONITORINGTM An iCCSL Network Alarm Communicator connects to the XR5 to provide Internet! LAN/WAN communications to the panel. When used in this manner or as a slave or stand-alone network communicator, the 1COMSL reduces or eliminates costly telephone lines and communicates to the central station via high-speed network connections. ONE-MAN WALK TEST Conduct one-man tests of the system and all connected devices using the Walk Test feature. Simply enter an access code into the keypad and XR5 panels automatically enter test mode. Each time a zone trips during the test, the bell rings for two seconds and a Sensor Reset is automatically performed to reset latched detectors. When the test is completed, the results display at the keypad and can be sent to the central station. 714 ZONE EXPANDER The 714 provides four inputs and is suitable for use with normally open and normally closed fire devices. 714 inputs are supervised and can be programmed for any zone type. The 714 connects to the keypad bus. 715 ZONE EXPANDER The 715 expander provides four Class B powered inputs and is suitable for use with the 2-wire conventional smoke detectors. 715 inputs are supervised and can be programmed for any zone type. The 715 connects to the keypad bus. POWERFUL FALSE ALARM REDUCTION FEATURES The built-in false alarm reduction features include cross zoning, fire verification, fire retard, and CleanMe reporting. Cross zoning allows multiple zones to be cross zoned and reports alarms only when two or more zones fault within a programmable time of 4 to 250 seconds. Should just one zone trip, only a zone fault report is sent to the central station. Fire verification provides a 120-second window during which a smoke detector can trip, be automatically reset, and then must trip a second time before an alarm is indicated. A single trip on the zone sends only a zone fault report to the central station. Fire retard allows a programmable time of up to 250 seconds for waterilow, detection. This eliminates the need for additional mechanical delays at the flowswitch. ANNUNCIATOR OUTPUTS Four open collector outputs can be used for a variety of remote control and annunciation applications. Each output is rated for 50m4 maximum. Add the Model 860 Relay Output module to provide four form C relay contacts. Each Model 305 relay is rated at 42mA and the module easily mounts inside the XR5 enclosure. TROUBLE ANNUNCIATOR MODULE For slave communicator applications, the XRSSL provides an enclosure door- mounted Model 377 Trouble Annunciator Module. The Model 377 offers Trouble and System OK LEDs with audible alert and a Silence button for acknowledging trouble conditions. BUILT-IN PROGRAMMER An internal English text Programmer enables technicians to easily program and test the panel from any keypad. A lockout code restricts access to only authorized persons. REMOTE PROGRAMMING Remotely program XR5 panels using Remote Linktm programming software from DMP. You can upload panel programming, make the necessary programming changes, and then download the revised programming into the panel. Expand Remote Link/System Link functionality with Advanced Reporting, Alarm Monitoring, Command Center, or Link Server packages. 630F FIRE COMMAND CENTER KEYPAD OPERATION For system annunciation, include the DMP 630F Fire Command keypad in your installation. Observe polarity when connecting the battery. rJh4FXR5FC. and XR5SL panels are capable of recharging two 7.7 Ah batteries (15.4 Amp/hours) within 24 hours. Do not use battery backup with 24 VDC input: Do not connect batteries to the XR5FC and XR5SL panels when powering the panels with 20 to 28.2 VDC voltage from a Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP). The XR5FC and XR5SL panels use the backup battery capability of the FACP for their standby requirements. 1 Use sealed lead-acid batteries only: Use the DMP Model 367, 12 VDC 7.7 Ah or Model 369 7.0 Ah sealed lead-acid rechargeable battery. Batteries supplied by DMP have been tested to ensure proper charging with Y DMP products. DO NOT USE GEL CELL BATTERIES WiTH THE XR5FC AND XR5SL 6.2 Earth Ground (GND) Terminal 4 of the XR5FC and XR5SL panels must be connected to earth ground using 14 gauge or larger wire to provide proper transient suppression. DMP recommends connecting to a metal cold water pipe or ground rod only. Do not connect to electrical conduit or a telephone company ground. 6.3 Battery Replacement Period DMP recommends replacing the battery every 3 to 5 years under normal use. 6.4 Discharge/ Recharge The battery charging circuit on the XR5FC and XR5SL panels float charge at 13.9 VDC at a maximum current of 1.2 Amps using the Model 320 Transformer. The total current available is reduced by the combined auxiliary current draw from terminals 6, 7, 15, 17, 19, and 21. The various battery voltage levels are listed below: Battery Trouble: Below 11.9 VDC Battery Restored: Above 12.6 VDC 6.5 Battery Supervision The XR5FC and XR5SL panels load test the battery once every three minutes when AC power is present on terminal 1 and 2. The test lasts for five seconds. If, during the test, the battery voltage falls below 11.9 VDC a low battery is indicated. The test is then repeated every two minutes until the battery charges above 12.6 VDC, the battery restored voltage. If the low battery does not recharge and is replaced with a fully charged battery, the charged battery will not be detected until the next two minute test is done. If AC power fails during normal system operation, a low battery is indicated any time the battery voltage falls below 11.9 VDC. Digital Monitoring Products XR5 Installation Guide 8 lots 6.6 XR5FC and XR5SL Power Requirements During AC power failure, the XR5FC and XR5SL panels, and all auxiliary devices connected to the panels, draw their power from the battery. All devices must be taken into consideration when calculating the battery standby capacity. Below is a list of the power requirements of the XR5FC and XR5SL panels. The 500 offers sounders in two- and four-wire applications, specifically to meet residential code requirements. The 500 Series also offers choices for optional auxiliary relays and isolated heat sensors, not available before in the 500 Series. GE is also proud to offer proven technology like CleanMe®, dust compensation, field replaceable optical chambers, and self-diag- nostics. CleanMe® is only available on the 500 2-wire models and will communicate to the GE FireworX panels when servicing is required. 500 Series detectors work on a light-scattering principle. A pulsed infrared light-emitting diode serves as the light source, and a high- speed photo diode as the sensing element. This design has superior protection against nuisance alarms caused by dust, insects, RF interference, and ambient light. The proprietary optical chamber is field replaceable. In the event of a confirmed alarm the LED will light continuously. The unit indicates trouble by flashing the LED every second. This meets the NFPA 72 field sensitivity testing requirements. Units with built-in 85dBA sounders emit a temporal 3-3-3 tone pattern when in alarm and will emit a steady tone when the input power is reversed. All wiring terminates in clamp-type screw termi- nals. The detectors mount to a standard single-gang electrical box, a four-inch octagonal, four-inch square electrical box, or WIREMOLD No. 5739 fixture box.
