Annunciators ,, .J,c~h _,/, General The LCD-S0F is a compact, cost-effective, BO-character, back- lit LCD remote Fire Annunciator for use with the Fire•Lite MS- 9200UD Series and MS-9600 Series Fire Alarm Control Pan- els (FACPs). The LCD-BOF displays complete system point status information and includes control switches for remote control of critical system functions. Up to 32 LCD-80Fs may be connected onto the EIA-485 termi- nal port of each FACP. The LCD-BOF requires no program- ming, which saves time during system commissioning. Features • BO-character Liquid Crystal Display. • Mimics all display information from the host panel. • Control switches for System Acknowledge, Signal Silence, Drill and Reset with enable key. • System status LEDs for Power, Alarm, Trouble, Supervisory and Alarm Silenced. • No programming necessary -LCD-BOF connects to the terminal port (TB7) . • Displays device type identifiers, individual point alarm, trou- ble or supervisory, zone and custom alpha labels. • Time-and-date display field. • Aesthetically pleasing design. • May be powered from the host FACP or by remote power supply (requires 24 VDC). • Up to 32 LCD-BOF annunciators per FACP. • Plug-in terminal blocks for ease of installation and service. • . Can be remotely located up to 6,000 feet (1828.8 m) from the FACP. • Local piezo sounder with alarm and trouble resound. • Semi-flush mounts to 2.188" (5.556 cm) minimum deep, three-gang electrical box (Fire•Lite PN 10103) or three-gan- gable electrical switchbox. • Surface-mounts to Fire•Lite PN SBB-3 surface backbox. Operation The LCD-BOF annunciator provides the FACP with point annunciation with full display text on an BO-character LCD dis- play. The LCD-BOF also provides an array of LEDs to indicate system status, and includes control switches for remote control of critical system functions. The LCD-BOF provides the FACP with up to 32 remote serially connected annunciators. All field-wiring terminations on the LCD-BOF use removable, compression-type terminal blocks for ease of wiring and circuit testing. Communication between the FACP and the annunciators is accomplished over an EIA-485 serial interface, which greatly reduces wire and installation cost over traditional systems. Six wires total are required: four for the EIA-485 communications (two in and two return); and two for the 24 VDC regulated power. Dip switches control local functions such as: piezo dis- able, control switches/key-switch disable, transmit/receive mode. LCD-BOF Installation The LCD-BOF can be semi-flush mounted to a 2.188" (5.556 cm) minimum deep, three-gang electrical box (Fire•Lite PN 10103) or three-gangable electrical switchboxes. Alternately, an SBB-3 surface backbox is available for surface-mount appli- cations. The SD355T(A) adds thermal sensors that will alarm at a fixed temperature of 135°F (57°C). Since these detectors are addressable, they will help emergency personnel quickly locate a fire during its early stages, potentially saving precious rescue time while also reducing property damage. Two LEDs on each sensor light to provide a local, visible sensor indica- tion. Remote LED annunciator capability is available as an optional accessory, PN RA100Z(A). The SD355R(A) is a remote test capable detector for use with D355PL(A) or DNR(A)/DNRW duct smoke detector housings. Features SLCLOOP • Two-wire loop connection. • Unit uses base for wiring. ADDRESSING • Addressable by device. • Rotary, decimal addressing: 01 -99 with MS-9200UD(LS), and 01 -159 with MS-9600UD(LS). ARCHITECTURE • Unique single-source, dual-chamber design to respond quickly and dependably to a broad range of fires. • Sleek, low-profile design. • Integral communications and built-in type identification. • Built-in tamper-resistant feature. • Removable cover and insect-resistant screen for simple field cleaning. OPERATION • Withstands air velocities up to 4,000 feet-per-minute (20 ml sec.) without triggering a false alarm. • Factory preset at 1.5% nominal sensitivity for panel alarm threshold level. • Visible LED "blinks" when the unit is addressed (communi- cating with the fire panel) and latches on in alarm. MECHANICALS • Sealed against back pressure. • Direct surface mounting or electrical box mounting. • Mounts to: single-gang box, 3.5" (8.89 cm) or 4.0" (10.16 cm) octagonal box, or 4.0" (10.16 cm) square electrical box (using a plaster ring -included). OTHER SYSTEM FEATURES • Fully coated circuit boards and superior RF/transient pro- tection. • 94-V0 plastic flammability rating. • Low standby current. DF-52384:D • E-160 e Flre·UTe'ALarms by Honeywell Addressable Devices SO355(A) in B210LP(A) Base OPTIONS • Remote LED output connection, PN RA100Z(A). Applications C, C " (!) z ::; w ~I ~ N ~I N Use photoelectric detectors in life-safety applications to pro- vide a broad range of fire-sensing capability, especially where smoldering fires are anticipated. Ionization detectors are often better than photoelectric detectors at sensing fast, flaming fires. Construction These detectors are constructed of off-white fire resistant plas- tic. SD355(A) series plug-in, low-profile smoke detectors are designed to commercial standards and offer an attractive appearance. Installation SD355(A) series plug-in detectors use a detachable mounting base to simplify installation, service and maintenance. Mount base (all base types) on an electrical backbox which is at least 1.5" (3.81 cm) deep. For a chart of compatible junction boxes, see DF-60059. NOTE: Because of the inherent supervision provided by the SLC loop, end-of-line resistors are not required. Wiring "T-taps" or branches are permitted for Style 4 (Class B) wiring. SD355R(A) mounts in a D355PL(A) or DNR(A)IDNRW duct detector housing. Operation Each SD355(A) series detector uses one of 99 possible addresses on the MS-9200UD(LS) and up to 318 (159 on each loop) on the MS-9600UD(LS) Signaling Line Circuit (SLC). It responds to regular polls from the system and reports its type and status. The addressable photoelectric sensor in the SD355(A) series has a unique unipolar chamber that responds quickly and uni- formly to a broad range of smoke conditions. It can withstand wind gusts up to 4,000 feet-per-minute (20 m/sec.) without sending an alarm level signal. Because of its unipolar cham- ber, the SD355(A) series is approximately two times more responsive than most photoelectric sensors. This makes it a more stable detector. DF-52384:D • 2/11/2015-Page 1 of 2 Detector Sensitivity Test Each detector can have its sensitivity tested (required per NFPA 72, Chapter 14 on Inspection, Testing and Maintenance) when installed/connected to a MS-9200UD(LS) or MS- 9600UD(LS) addressable fire alarm control panel. The results of the sensitivity test can be printed off the MS-9200UD(LS) or MS-9600UD(LS) for record keeping. Specification Voltage range: 15 -32 VDC (peak). Standby current: 300 µA @ 24 VDC. The photoelectric type detectors are generally more effective at detecting slow, smoldering fires which smolder for hours before bursting into flame. Sources of these fires may include cigarettes burning in couches or bedding. The ionization type detectors are generally more effective at detecting fast, flaming fires which consume combustible materials rapidly and spread quickly. Sources of these fires may include paper burning in a waste container or a grease fire in the kitchen. *Rev. 01-11-2010 fm This listing is based upon technical data submitted by the applicant.
