They are listed by UL for central station, local, auxiliary, and remote station systems. The FPD-7024 FACPs support four on-board initiating zones that can be expanded to eight using the FPC-7034. Each initiating zone supports two-wire and four-wire detectors configurable as Class A, Style D or Class B, Style B loops. Each zone can support up to 20 two-wire detectors, or any number of four-wire detectors depending on available power. Each FACP has a built-in digital fire alarm communicator transmitter (DACT). Enhance the FPD-7024 conventional system features by adding a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module. Adding a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module to the FPD-7024 turns the conventional FACP into an addressable FACP. The D7039 adds up to 247 addressable points to the base system and adds an additional 400 events to the history buffer for a total of 499 events. The D7039 also increases the number of programmable relay outputs from 19 to 59 and expands system users to 100. Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs) Two Class A, Style 7 or Class B, Style Y NACs provide up to 4 A of regulated 24 VFWR power to operate horns, strobes, bells, and other notification appliances. Each NAC can be programmed to provide Temporal Code 3, California March, steady, pulsed, and synchronized output for Wheelock, Gentex, or System Sensor notification appliances. User Interface A viewing port in the locked control panel enclosure door shows the system status light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and liquid-crystal display (LCD) while maintaining system keypad security. Unlocking the enclosure door provides access to the system controls for silencing off-normal conditions, zone bypassing, detector resetting, testing, other fire functions, and programming. These functions are also available on all FMR-7033 LCD Keypads connected to the system. Organized Event Display Sorts alarm, trouble, and supervisory events into categories and allows scrolling through specific events. History Buffer * The system stores events in a 99-event history buffer. Notice Lij The number of events that can be stored in the history buffer increases to 499 with the addition of a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module. Central Station Reporting The FPD-7024 FACPs send reports to two telephone numbers (or, if a Conettix interface module is installed, IP addresses) to an appropriate Conettix receiver at the central station with full single, double, and backup reporting. The panel supports communication in BFSK, SIA, Contact ID, Modem lila2 and 4/2 or 3/1 Tone Bursts. Dirty Smoke Detector Monitoring All on-board zones and FPC-7034 zones are continuously monitored for smoke detectors signaling a dirty condition using the Bosch Chamber Check feature and CleanMe protocol. If a detector's smoke chamber is dirty, the detector sends a Clean Me signal on the two-wire loop or a dirty detector signal on the addressable loop. The control panel annunciates that there is a dirty detector on the loop or the address. The Chamber Check feature signals a dirty smoke chamber using the LED on the detector head. Accessories The FPD-7024 enclosure has space for additional accessory modules and two D1218 (18 Ah) batteries or two D126 (7 Ah) batteries. Relays Local Relays: The main control panel includes Three Form "C" relays. The relay contacts are rated at 5 A, 28 VDC. No over existing limiting is performed on the contacts of these relays. The default selection for the relays is to indicate general alarm and general system trouble and supervisory. By using point or zone mapping, they can be programmed to activate in a wide variety of conditions. When a local relay is programmed for trouble it is energized in the normal state. This causes the common and normally-open terminals to be shorted when not I in the trouble condition. D7035 Remote Relay Module: The D7035 is an octal relay module that provides eight Form C relay outputs. It connects to the FPD-7024 through the option bus. The outputs are fully programmable, exactly as the local relays are programmed. Each output operates independently of the other seven to provide complete flexibility. Communication with the D7035 is supervised. Hsi a STEP 2: LOCATE UNIT AND MEASURE SIGNAL STRENGTH (RSSI) First, you will be confirming that Telguard has adequate cellular signal strength. Press the LED/RSSI Mode Toggle button one time, LEDs will now indicate signal strength. Minimum recommended is 3 (3 on solid) with a multiple towers in range (LED I on solid). Press the LED/RSSI Mode Toggle button a second time to exit RSSl mode. STEP 3: CONFIGURE PANEL ALARMS FOR SOLE PATH CONNECTION Fire panels are typically provided with two Telco connections. Because the TG-7FS provides a single connection, the panel must be set up accordingly. The firs method of installation is to configure the panel to disable the Telco connection. If this is not an option due to panel limitations, it is possible to splice both TIP and RING connections from the panel into the single jack of the Telguard. The TG-7FS is capable of providing dial tone to both Telco connections. STEP 4: PROGRAM, ACTIVATE & TRANSMIT PANEL ALARMS OVER THE CELLULAR RADIO NETWORK Program the TG-7FS for Sole Path communication. You may do this by setting Memory Location 831 to a value of 3, using a butt-set. (See programming guide on reverse). LED 3 will be off when idle if successful. Next, connect the alarm panel's digital dialer output to Telguard and verify that alarm signals can be reliably sent through Telguard over cellular to the central station digital receiver. A minimum of two alarm signals must be transmitted. (NOTE: THE FIRST ALARM WILL ACTIVATE THE UNIT AT THE TELULAR COMMUNICATION CENTER, IT WILL NOT GO TO THE CENTRAL STATION, ALL SIGNALS AFTER THE FIRST ARE SENT TO THE CENTRAL STATION) STEP 5: CONNECT SUPERVISORY TRIP OUTPUTS Next, you will wire Telguard's supervisory trip outputs to the alarm panel and then test. STEP 6: CONNECT TRIP INPUT (OPTIONAL) Optionally, you can wire the external relay input to the trip input lead and ground, and test. STEP 7: COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION Your last step will be to attach earth ground, and permanently mount the unit. The LED/RSSI mode will reset to normal after 10 minutes. Setup & Programming the Operating Parameters in the Telguard TG-7FS When the Telguard is received from the factory and is powered up for the first time, it is immediately ready for activation, provided the default settings are what you want (note: registration form must be sent to Telular). The STC LED # 2 will flash to indicate any failure conditions. The Mode LED # 3 will be on and the SIC I and STC 2 relays will be tripped. If changes are required to the default settings, the Telguard can be programmed using a line-mans butt-set connected to T & R Test Points or a POTS phone connected to the panel RJ-45 jack (black connector where the alarm panel is normally connected). TO PROGRAM THE Tel-guard TG-7FS Put the line-mans butt-set in talk mode or pick up the POTS phone. Dial "#', you will hear 2 beeps. Press #, * this will put the Telguard into a Master Access programming mode, 2 beeps. Enter changes required. The syntax for programming a specific memory location is as follows: MEMORY LOCATION (3-digits), will respond with 2 beeps, then VALUE, will respond with 2 beeps. Then press * you will hear 2 beeps then hang up. This saves the change and exits the programming mode. Mem Loc. When the Telguard unit's LED display is put into RSSI mode (by pressing the display mode button), the top LED (LED 1) will be lit if the Telguard unit detects multiple active cell towers within range. Ensure Optimal Signal Strength Installation instructions for the Telguard TG-7 series indicate that a signal strength of -90dBm is sufficient. While this is suitable for "normal' use, i.e. daily, weekly or monthly supervision, an additional level of signal integrity will minimize the false alarms supervision failures caused by interference and atmospheric fading. Because of this, a signal strength. of -80dBm, as indicated by at least 3 illuminated LEDs (LEDs 3, 4 and 5), is the recommended minimum for units installed as sole path communicators. strength by installing an external antenna. Telular provides a variety of antenna options as accessories; consult your local distributor for more information. Configuring a Sole Path at the Panel Fire panels are typically provided with two telco connections, in order to provide multiple reporting paths. With the TG-7FS configured as a sole path communicator, one of these telco connections is no longer necessary for UL 864 compliance. However, the panel will continue to supervise that line unless changes are made at installation time. There are two methods for removing supervision alarms at the panel caused by disconnecting the second telco connection. Either method can be used. Disabling the Second Telco Connection Most fire panels have a configuration mechanism to disable the second telco connection. Once the second telco connection is disabled, the panel will no longer supervise the connection. This is the preferred method of removing supervision alarms at the panel caused by removal of the second telco connection. Connecting the Telco Connections Together The Telguard communicator is capable of providing dial tone to both telco connections, if the telco connections are connected together, such that "TIP" is connected to "TIP", and "RING" is connected to "RING". The two connections will receive dial tone in much the same way that multiple extensions in a household are connected together. If this method is used, the installer must take care to ensure that dual path reporting is not enabled on the panel, or else simultaneous alarm reports from the two telco connections may interfere with each other. The base accommodates a variety of back box mounting methods, as well as direct mounting with drywall anchors, To complete the installation, i3 heads plug in to the base with a simple Stop-Drop 'N Lock' action. Intelligence. i detectors offer a number of intelligent features to simplify testing and maintenance. Drift compensation and smoothing algorithms are standard with the i3 line to minimize nuisance alarms.Two-wire 3 detectors needing cleaning can generate a remote maintenance signal, when connected to the 2W-MOD2 loop test/maintenance module, or to a panel equipped with the 11 protocol. This signal is indicated by LEDs located at the module and the panel. The SENS-RDR, a wireless device, displays the sensitivityof P detectors in terms of percent per-foot-obscu ration. Instant inspection. The P series provides wide-angle red and green LED indicators for instant inspection of the detector's condition: normal standby, out-of-sensitivity, alarm, or freeze trouble. When connected to the 2W-MOD2 loop test/maintenance module or a panel with the P protocol, the EZ Walk loop test feature is available on two-wire i3 detectors. This feature verifies the initiating loop wiring by providing LED status indication at each detector.
