4. Distance to the property line(s) for all proposed freestanding sign(s).
5. Provide an elevation for all proposed sign(s) which specifies the following:
A. Dimensions and area for all existing and proposed sign(s).
B. Materials the sign(s) will be constructed of.
C. Source of Illumination.
D. Proposed sign copy.

APPLICATIONS
The following example illustrates the information that is required for all pole, monument, and
freestanding sign permit applications. Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed
· for potential issues by the Transportation Department, which will not allow signs to be approved
over the counter. Additional time will be required for on-site inspection.

Relationship to Streets: Signs shall be designed and located so as not to interfere with the
unobstructed clear view of the public right-of-way and nearby traffic regulatory signs of any
pedestrian, bicyclist or motor vehicle driver.
Sight Distance: No sign or sign structure shall be placed or constructed so that it impairs the sight

The Architecturai Review Committee (ARC) of the Carlsbad Research Center (CRC) has
reviewed your monument sign application submitted for your building located at 213 l Faraday
Avenue on lot 42 of the CRC.
The plans show that a new internally illuminated monument sign will be replacing the existing
'Genoptix' sign in the same location. The new sign will be double-sided and made of
aluminum. The single monument sign is consistent with the CRC Design Guidelines and
therefore the submitted plans are considered APPROVED.

Dear Mrs. Sullivan:

Review Committee
The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) of the Carlsbad Research Center (CRC) has
completed its review of the proposed painting of an existing canopy at your building located at
2131 Faraday Avenue on CRC lot 42.
The existing canopy is located on the west side of the building and is currently painted in a red
color. The submitted plan proposes to paint the canopy in Sherwin Williams color 'Aluminum'.
All other existing canopies on this lot are already painted an aluminum color, thus once this red
canopy is painted it will also match with the others.
The proposed color is consistent with the CRC Design Guide! ines. Therefore the Architectural
Review Committee considers the proposed painting of the canopy APPROVED. You may
proceed to paint the canopy whenever you wish.
