Water Infiltration BMP Ponds

Dear Mr. Dunn:
In accordance with the request of Mr. Bryan Knapp with PLSA, and as required by the
City of Carlsbad grading plan reviewer, we are issuing this letter to clarify our
minimum recommendations for foundations within 10 feet of planned water
infiltration BMP ponds. Refer to our letter dated February 8, 2021, for initial
recommendations for foundations and utility lines to be built within 10 feet of BMP
ponds.
Herein, we clarify that when we refer to the bottom elevation of the BMP ponds
adjacent to or near retaining wall or home foundations, we are referring to the surface
elevation inside the ponds. Therefore, for a retaining wall near BMP 2, the wall
foundation top may be left at an elevation of 85 feet.
The findings, opinions, and conclusions presented herein have been made in
accordance with generally accepted principles and practice in the field of geotechnical
engineering within the City of Carlsbad. No warranty, either expressed or implied, is
made. Our findings, opinions and conclusions are specifically limited to the scope of
services described herein. for the evaluation and feasibility of storm water infiltration
BMPs. When final project plans are completed, they should be made available for
our review. Additional or modified recommendations may be provided as warranted.
