CALL TO ORDER: 3 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Hall, Bhat-Patel.
PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held July 11, 2022
Subcommittee Member Bhat-Patel made the motion to pass the minutes. Mayor Hall seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously, 2/0.
SUBCOMMITTEE COMMENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS: None.
NEW BUSINESS:
Item 1. Carlsbad Business Organization and Business Updates
Recommendation: Receive an informational report from Carlsbad business
organizations and businesses, discuss and provide recommendations.
The subcommittee received informational reports from Carlsbad Chamber of
Commerce CEO Bret Schanzenbach, Visit Carlsbad President Kim Sidoriak and
Carlsbad Village Association Executive Director Christine Davis.
Item 2. Economic Development Strategic Plan Update
Recommendation: Receive an informational report regarding progress on the
Economic Development Strategic Plan, discuss and provide recommendations.
Chief Innovation Officer David Graham and RSG Group Director Lynn Kelly-
Lehner presented the report and reviewed a PowerPoint presentation (on file in
the Office of the City Clerk).
Motion by Subcommittee Member Bhat-Patel, seconded by Mayor Hall to take
the Economic Development Strategic Plan to the full City Council for adoption.
The motion passed unanimously, 2/0.
The subcommittee received the report.
Item 3. Economic Development Program and BEAR Update
Recommendation: Receive an informational report regarding progress on the
Economic Development Strategic Plan, discuss and provide recommendations.
Economic Development Manager Matt Sanford presented the report and
reviewed a PowerPoint presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk).
The subcommittee received the report.
SUBCOMMITTEE MEMBER REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: None.
ADJOURN: Mayor Hall adjourned the duly noticed meeting at 4:26 p.m.
