Subcommittee Member Bhat-Patel made the motion to pass the minutes. Mayor Hall seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:
Item 1.Carlsbad Business Organization and Business Updates
Recommendation: Receive an informational report from Carlsbad business
organizations and businesses, discuss and provide recommendations.
The subcommittee received informational reports from Carlsbad Chamber of
Commerce CEO Bret Schanzenbach, Carlsbad Village Association Executive
Director Christine Davis and Visit Carlsbad President and CEO Kim Sidoriak.
Item 2. Economic Development Program and BEAR Update
Recommendation: Receive an informational report regarding city economic
development activities, discuss and provide recommendations, including on
whether to carry forward remaining ERRI funds to fiscal year 2022/2023.
Chief Innovation Officer David Graham and Economic Development Manager
Matt Sanford presented the report and reviewed a PowerPoint presentation (on
file in the Office of the City Clerk).
The subcommittee received the report.
Item 3. Economic Development Strategic Plan Update
Recommendation: Receive an informational report regarding progress on the
Economic Development Strategic Plan, discuss and provide recommendations.
RSG Group Director Lynn Kelly-Lehner presented the report and reviewed a
PowerPoint presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk).
The subcommittee received the report.
Item 4. Economic Development Subcommittee Meeting Schedule
Recommendation: Discuss and approve the Economic Development
Subcommittee meeting schedule.
Economic Development Manager Matt Sanford presented the report and
reviewed a PowerPoint presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk).
Subcommittee Member Bhat-Patel made the motion to pass the minutes. Mayor
Hall seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
SUBCOMMITTEE MEMBER REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS:
Council Member Bhat-Patel requested a discussion be brought back regarding Microenterprise
Home Kitchen Operations.
