As requested, please see updated reference geotechnical report that now includes the  report/project number.    Structural Calculations    2. Shoring calculations are based on the temporary & permanent allowable passive  pressure values provided in the geotechnical report without limitation (see figures 7 &  9). For clarity, please see the attached geotechnical letter that verifies the use of the  passive earth pressures.    3. For status, please contact building@carlsbadca.gov Deliver THREE corrected sets of plans and TWO corrected calculations/reports directly to the City of Carlsbad Building Division, 1635 Faraday Ave., Carlsbad, CA 92008, (442) 339-2719. The City will route the plans to True North, Planning and Land Development Engineering Departments (if applicable) for continued review. Note: If this project requires FIRE PREVENTION review, ensure that you follow their specific instructions for resubmittal review. The City will not route plans back to Dennis Grubb & Associates for continued Fire Prevention review. GENERAL INFORMATION: A. The following comments are referred to the 2019 California Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical Codes, California Green Building Standards Code, and Energy Code (i.e., 2018 IBC, UMC, UPC, and 2017 NEC, as amended by the State of California). B. There may be other comments generated by the Building Division and/or other City departments that will also require your attention and response. This attached list of comments, then, is only a portion of the plan review. Contact the City for other items. C. Respond in writing to each comment by marking the attached comment list or creating a response letter. Indicate which details, specification, or calculation shows the required information. Your complete and clear responses will expedite the re-check. D. amp and signature on all sheets of the drawings and on the coversheets of specifications and calculations per CBPC 5536.1 and CBPC 6735. This item will be verified prior to plan approval. On Sheet 3, in Design Criteria Note #1: Also list geotechnical report/project number: SD722. Plans: No comments. Structural Calculations: S2. Provide confirmation from the geotechnical engineer that it is acceptable to use passive pressure resistance of (350 pcf)(H) without limit. S3. Per Structural drawing, several soldier piles (SB #8 -#13) are permanent. In the design for those permanent soldier piles, include seismic earth pressure 15H psf in addition to static active earth pressure (45H psf or 60H psf) as suggested in Figure 7 of geotechnical report. S4. In timber lagging design, the lateral soil pressure distribution is based on certain "lagging soil wedge function". Provide approval from the geotechnical engineer.
