CALL TO ORDER: 3:30 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Nov. 14, 2022
Mayor Pro Tern Bhat-Patel made the motion to pass the minutes.
SUBCOMMITTEE COMMENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS: None.

1. CARLSBAD BUSINESS ORGANIZATION AND BUSINESS UPDATES -Receive informational reports
from Carlsbad business organizations, discuss and provide recommendations. (Staff contact:
David Graham, Administrative Services Department)
Recommendation: Receive the reports and provide feedback.
San Diego North Economic Development Council Chief Executive Officer Erik Bruvold and Connect
Chief Operating Officer Christie Marcella presented their reports and reviewed PowerPoint
presentations (on file in the Office of the City Clerk). Visit Carlsbad President Kim Sidoriak
presented an informational report.
The subcommittee received the reports.
2. ECONOMIC RECOVERY & REVITALIZATION INITIATIVE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
STRATEGIC PLAN UPDATE -Receive an informational report regarding the Economic
Development Strategic Plan, discuss and provide recommendations. (Staff contact: David
Graham, Administrative Services Department)
Recommendation: Receive the report and provide feedback.
Chief Innovation Officer David Graham and Economic Development Manager Matt Sanford
presented the report and reviewed a PowerPoint presentation (on file in the Office of the City
Clerk).
The subcommittee received the report.
3. 2023 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SUBCOMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING CALENDAR -Adopt the
2023 Economic Development Subcommittee regular meeting calendar. (Staff contact: David
Graham, Administrative Services Department)
Recommendation: Adopt the calendar.
Economic Development Manager Matt Sanford presented the report and reviewed a
PowerPoint presentation (on file in the Office of the City Clerk).
Motion by Mayor Blackburn, seconded by Mayor Pro Tern Bhat-Patel to adopt the 2023
Economic Development Subcommittee regular meeting calendar. The motion passed
unanimously, 2/0.
SUBCOMMITTEE MEMBER REQUESTS FOR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS: None.
ADJOURN: Mayor Blackburn adjourned the duly noticed meeting at 5:08 p.m.
