This memorandum provides an update to the Council Memorandum dated October 27, 2022,
provided as Attachment A, on the status of the City Hall Building Refurbishment Project.
Background
The adopted fiscal year 2015-16 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget included the City
Hall Building Refurbishment Project, CIP Project No. 4718. The focus ofthis project is to refurbish
building systems and improve safety and security at City Hall.
Discussion
Major portions of the City Hall Building Refurbishment Project have been completed. The roof
and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems were replaced, light-emitting diode
(LED) lighting was installed, and the-auditorium-style chairs and carpet in the Council Chamber
were replaced. Construction of a security wall adjacent to the staff table in the Council Chamber
is the only outstanding item.
Staff have executed the required contracts for construction and installation of the security wall. . .
The wall has been fabricated, and installation of tbe wall is scheduled for May 17-19, 2023. Once
the wall installation is complete, Cl'P Project No. 4718 will be closed out, and the remaining
approximately $73,000 in project funds will be returned to the General Fund.

This memorandum provides an update on the City Hall Building Refurbishment Project.
Background
The adopted fiscal year 2015-16 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Budget included the City
Hall Building Refurbishment Project, CIP Project No. 4718. The focus of this project is to refurbish
building systems and address safety and security concerns.
Discussion
Major portions of the project have been completed. The items that are still pending in the
Council Chamber include:
• Carpet replacement
• Replacement of the auditorium-style chairs
• Construction of a security wall adjacent to the staff table
Staff have executed contracts for carpet and seating replacement in the Council Chamber. The
seating layout was revised to include additional accessibility spaces, as shown in Attachment A,
and accommodate installation of a security wall adjacent to the staff table, as shown in
Attachment B.
Staff have executed a contract for construction of the security wall. Its design is underway with
installation expected to be completed in January 2023.
Next Steps
The current timeline for completion of the project is as follows:
November 17-23
November 28-December 2
January 2023
