Recommended Action
Discuss committee tasks related to the Arts Commission Work Plan and determine next steps
for subcommittee meeting dates and times.
Executive Summary
In 2018, the City Council revised the Carlsbad Municipal Code Section 2.15.020 (C) to create
uniform policies and procedures related to boards and commissions, requiring each board or
commission to provide the City Council, for its approval, an annual work plan of activities to
be undertaken. The purpose of the work plan is to encourage increased dialogue between the
commission and the City Council.
The Arts Commission approved their work plan at the Jan. 5 meeting, which was then
approved by City Council at its March 7 meeting. At the March 2 meeting, the Arts
Commission approved its committee assignments. Tonight’s meeting will focus on the Arts
Commission Work Plan and Business Outreach Committees and their next steps.
Next Steps
Schedule the first meeting date and time for the Arts Commission Work Plan and Business
Outreach Committees.

No additional city funding is being requested at this time.
