Return plans to Dennis Grubb & Associates, 6560 Van Buren Blvd, Ste B, Riverside, CA. 92503 CORRECTIONS ON THE PLANS THE FOLLOWING SHALL BE PROVIDED: As specified in the correction letter dated 4/12/19; provide detail view of the fire-line pipe under the building. 2016 NFPA 24, Sec 10.4.3.1.1 The response refers to the fire sprinkler contractor. The underground shows going under the building. It is assumed the POC for the sprinkler contractor is 6" AFF. If not on the underground show the POC of the sprinkler contractor and provide approved plans for their underground portion of the plans. POC is 6" AFF provide the detailed view of the underground under the building. Provide cross-sectional detail of the backfill. Note: The backfill shall consist of 6" below and 12" above pipe and shall be clean fill sand. 2016 NFPA 24, §10.9.1 As specified in the correction letter dated 4/12/19; FDC shall be immediately adjacent to the fire department access road. 2016 NFPA 24, Sec 5.9.5.1 6560 Van Buren Blvd, Ste B, Riverside, CA. 92503 (800) 9757395 * (951)772-0007 The FDC is not located immediately adjacent to the Fire Department Access road. Relocate the FDC to immediately adjacent to the Fire Department Access road. The FDC is required to be located within 100 feet of a fire hydrant. The FDC's exceed that distance. Relocate so the maximum distance does not exceed 100 feet. CFC §912.2 Hydrants shall be a minimum of 40 feet from the building to be protected; relocate hydrant/s as appropriate. Note: fire hydrants can be located closer than 40 feet to the building protected provided that the separation of the fire hydrants are reduced by 50%. Either relocate the fire hydrants so that they are more than 40 feet from the structure or provide additional fire hydrants. 2016 NFPA 24, Sec 7.2.3 Note: Caution relocating the fire hydrants shall not be such that the fire hydrants are on the opposite side of the street from the building creating an obstruction across a fire department access lane in a fire situation. As specified in the correction letter dated 4/12/19; Each fire-line serving the building shall be provided with an indicating valve (Ply); provide the required valve. 2016 NFPA 24, Sec 6.2.1 The response indicates that is provided. The Marking building is not provided with either a PIV nor a FDC. Provide the Marketing building with both a FDC and a Ply. As specified in the correction letter dated 4/12/19; Large private fire service main systems shall have sectional post indicating valve (PIV) at appropriate locations when the system serves more than 5 appurtenances. The maximum number of appurtenances between sectional valves shall not exceed 5. 2016 NFPA 24, Sec 6.6.1.3 The response indicates that it was provided; none could be located please clarify. The use of private hydrants to supply the FDC require an aboveground check valve on the lateral line feeding the fire sprinkler system to prevent a circular flow back to the fire hydrant. Provide an aboveground check valve on the lateral line feeding the fire sprinkler system. 6560 Van Buren Blvd, Ste B, Riverside, CA. 92503 (800) 9757395 * (951)772-0007 Dennis Grubb and Associates, LLC Assisting Cities Build Safe Comnzzmifies PLAN CORRECTIONS (FIRE) DGA#: C9140 Carlsbad Permit#: FPC20I9-0089 Checked by: D.
