Page 2 Review Comments r Boekel Residence, Lot 255 7176 Aviara Drive, Carlsbad, CA 1. There were errors in the entry in the hydraulic calculations, however they represented a wost,;)? case and no revision is required. There's no information on a pipe with a diameter of 0.959. It was probably intended to be 0.995, which is 1" type K copper The correct C-factor for copper and PVC is 150, while 120 was used in the underground throughout. 2. No information on the size of the meter, field verify that it is at least a 1" meter. 3. Field verify that the sprinklers adjacent to the soffit in the master bedroom are far enough from it to clear the soffit and still have the discharge reach the wall. The following comments are for your information and will appear on every residential sprinkler review. The alarm bell must be capable of being heard, above background noise, with doors closed, in all living areas of the residence. This will be checked at final acceptance. Pressure required at base of riser will be verified to be available at time of final acceptance. Sprinkler heads are omitted from bathroom areas under 55 SF in area with noncombustible plumbing fixtures. Fixtures will be verified at final acceptance. Sprinkler head blockage or pattern disruption caused by beams or other obstructions will be verified to not exist at final acceptance inspection. Sprinkler heads should be located the proper distance from heat sources (stoves, kitchen ranges, fireplaces, heat diffusers, etc.) This will be checked at final acceptance inspection. Sprinkler heads located in an unconditioned space (garage, water heater closet, etc.) should be fast response type with an appropriate temperature rating, commercial heads are acceptable in these areas. All exposed piping shall be black steel or copper. Concealed piping can be CPVC plastic.
