for potential sight distance and visibility issues. Additional information must supplement
this application showing how the proposed signage will not encroach into the public right-of-
way or present a traffic hazard. Page 3 of 4 illustrates an example for what would be required
for such proposed signs.

SITE PLAN REQUIREMENT FOR POLE, MONUMENT, AND FREESTANDING SIGN
APPLICATIONS
The following example illustrates the information that is required for all pole, monument, and
freestanding sign permit applications. Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed
for potential issues by the Transportation Department, which will not allow signs to be approved
over the counter. Additional time will be required for on-site inspection.
21.41.080 Sign design standards
Relationship to Streets: Signs shall be designed and located so as not to interfere with the
unobstructed clear view of the public right-of-way and nearby traffic regulatory signs of any
pedestrian, bicyclist or motor vehicle driver.
Sight Distance: No sign or sign structure shall be placed or constructed so that it impairs the sight
distance requirements at any public or private street intersection or driveway.

Please note the following:
1. Production and installation are subject to the Sign Criteria for PK I NORTH COUNTY PLAZA LP. and by
the local governing agencies.
2. A copy of your sign permit must be submitted to Landlord prior to commencing work at the above
referenced site.
3. A copy of your sign contractor’s Indemnity Agreement and insurance naming PK I NORTH COUNTY PLAZA LP
and Kimco Realty Corporation as an additional insured must be submitted to Landlord prior to commencement
of work. Please forward to my attention at sodish@kimcorealty.com. It must include proof of Workman’s
Compensation insurance. (Please see Indemnity Agreement for insurance requirements)
a. After the Sign Vendor has been paid, please have them complete a Final Unconditional Lien Waiver and
forward to my attention.
4. Include weep holes in letters for proper water drainage.
5. Install letters leaving ½” gap between back of letter and sign fascia for proper dirt/water drainage.
6. Only one sign company decal allowed per sign. 7. No exterior wire raceways.
8. No window signs allowed without Landlord’s prior written approval.
9. UL labels shall be placed out of view (preferable on top of letters)
10. Landlord to be notified 48 hrs. prior to signage installation.

Please see the attached invoice and payment instructions for the above mentioned sign permit.
Use our new ONLINE payment portal. You can submit your payment online with the following steps:
1. Go to online payment page: https://eg.carlsbadca.gov/payinvoice
2. Enter the 8‐digit Invoice number on the attached invoice and click the Search button.
The system will retrieve the invoice and display the details on the screen.
3. Click the Pay Now button
4. Enter your credit card information, including email address and click the Pay Now button.
Note – If you do not enter an email address, you will not receive a receipt.

I have reviewed this sign permit application and just need a little more information. Are you able to confirm the total
square footage of the existing SAS Shoes sign? If the proposed Stretch Lab sign is adding square footage, I’ll need the
following:
o Building frontage measurement of the entire building
o Square footage breakdown of all existing signs on the building
Additionally, please revise the zoning designation to C‐2‐Q. I will also need a P‐37 form and a B‐2 form completed
prior to approval of this permit, please see attached.
