A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A MAXIMUM OF $43 MILLION
OF EXCESS LIABILITY COVERAGE THROUGH CALIFORNIA INSURANCE POOL
AUTHORITY FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$1,150,000
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California has determined that it desires to
purchase excess liability coverage through California Insurance Pool Authority; and
WHEREAS, Aon has negotiated the purchase of a maximum of $43 million of excess liability
coverage through California Insurance Pool Authority for the next fiscal year beginning on July 1, 2023,
and concluding on June 30, 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as
follows that:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the purchase of a maximum of $43 million of excess liability coverage through
California Insurance Pool Authority effective July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, is hereby
approved and the Deputy City Manager of Administrative Services is authorized to issue
a warrant in an amount not to exceed $1,150,000 for payment of the premium to
California Insurance Pool Authority.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad on the 20th day of June, 2023, by the following vote, to wit:
